๐ Alumni in the News: Justin Campbell Continues Climb Through Guardians Organization
Simi Valley High School alumnus Justin Campbell is making an impressive name for himself in professional baseball.
The former Pioneer and Oklahoma State pitcher is now ranked among the Cleveland Guardians’ Top 10 prospects after a strong 2026 season that saw him move quickly through the organization.
Campbell was selected 37th overall in the 2022 MLB Draft, but injuries and multiple surgeries delayed the start of his professional career. This season, he finally made his pro debut and advanced from High-A Lake County to Double-A Akron and then Triple-A Columbus.
His Triple-A debut was cut short before he could officially record a pitch, and Campbell is currently sidelined with a left oblique strain. Even so, his rapid rise through the Guardians’ system has made him one of the organization’s most encouraging comeback stories this season.
From Simi Valley High to one of baseball’s rising prospects, Campbell’s journey is one local fans can be proud to follow.
The Simi Signal wishes Justin a full and speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back on the mound soon. |

Wish there was more info about the standout players. Hoping to hear more about who led the comeback.
Congrats to the girls! Losing to Canyon stings but every tough match helps.
That 3-2 win must've been intense. I remember games like that when I was at Simi. Feels good to start with a win.
Great start girls. Still early in the season so lots of time to improve. Keep working hard.
Does anyone know when their next home game is? Would love to support them in person.
Lisa MoonI heard their next home game is next Thursday, but not sure on the time. Usually it's around 6 pm. Definitely worth coming out!
My niece said the gym was loud! Love to hear Simi sports getting some attention.
Bummed about the Canyon loss but really excited by how they came together for the first game. Team chemistry shows.
I was at the game, what a nail-biter. Golden Valley played tough but Simi finished strong. Looking forward to more matches.
Always nice to start the season with a win, even if it was close. Good luck to the team this year.
My granddaughter is on the team this year. So proud of the girls for fighting till the end. Go Pioneers!
